ABOUT OUR TRAINING HALLS
Vovinam Việt Võ Đạo is a Vietnamese martial art that blends practical self-defense, physical training, and a guiding philosophy of resilience and harmony. Since its introduction to Canada, Vovinam has grown steadily, with schools established in both Calgary and Montreal. These dojos provide students with the opportunity to learn Vovinam’s core disciplines, including its philosophy, signature leg techniques, traditional forms, wrestling techniques, and the use of weapons such as swords, bo staff, and the dài đao (long sword).
Main Areas of Practice
Vovinam’s practice is built on a well-rounded foundation that includes leg techniques, forms, self-defense, weapon defense, rolling, sparring, and a strong emphasis on philosophy and history. Training also develops practical combat skills through blocks, chops, kicks, jumps, and striking techniques, making it both a dynamic martial art and a way to build discipline and resilience.
